The club is able to offer a range of awards and qualifications for people of all ages and ability to undertake training and assessment in lifesaving, lifeguarding and life support. The awards are listed below.

The aim of life support is to train people in the techniques of basic life support for adults and how to deal with basic first aid i.e. shock, bleeding, and choking. In order to pass this award you will need to show competancy at this level.
Life Support 3
This is the highest level of Life Support awards. This award deals with the highest standard of basic life support in adults, children and babies. It also deals with how to recognise and treat for shock, bleeding, choking, hypothermia and drowning. In order to pass this award you will need to show excellence at this level.
If you are sucessful in passing these awards you will recieve a woven badge and a certificate.
POOL BASED LIFESAVING AWARDS
LIFESAVING 1, 2, 3
These awards introduce the basic aquatic lifesaving skills and provide a good preparation for the Bronze Medallion. Lifesaving 1,2,3 covers the Swimming Requirement for GCSE for PE and can be used at Bronze level of the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme.
Bronze Medallion
For members aged 13 and over, the RLSS Bronze Medallion can be taken. The new style Bronze Medallion award is a nationally recognised qualification and is the minimum requirement for some lifeguard jobs in the UK. A Life Support 1 award must also be taken to achieve the Bronze Medallion award.
Award of Merit
This is a progression from the Bronze Medallion and it requires a higher level of ability and understanding of life supprt and rescue techniques. The minimum age is 15yrs and and a life support 2 is a pre-requisite for this award.
BEACH LIFEGUARDING AWARDS
The club also has trainer/assessors for NARS Lifeguard awards. During the summer months NARS Beach Lifeguard courses are run for those who's aim is to work as a professional lifeguard or for those who simply want to achieve this high standard.
